Gur - the age old natural medicine 

  • If you are suffering from acidity, drink a glass of water with a piece of Jaggery dissolved in it, after meals. 
  • Good for increasing hemoglobin have Jaggery and water early morning on an empty stomach
  • Add a piece of Jaggery in oil or ghee to prevent it from turning rancid.
  • Keep a small glass jar with little pieces of Jaggery at your workplace. To avoid bad breath that includes onions and garlic smells just chew on a piece of Jaggery. 
  • Treating Arthritic Pain: Eat a marble sized ball of Jaggery coated with two teaspoons of 'amla' powder every day for about three months to treat the pain completely. 
  • If diarrhea is caused by indigestion ,then taking dry or fresh ginger and powder it along with a crystal of rock salt, and take a teaspoon of this with a small piece of Jaggery
Medicinal Magic : Mishri 
  • Crushed fresh coconut along with some mishri (sugar) if eaten daily by a pregnant women makes the delivery easier and is also good for the baby !
  • For treating mouth sores, sprinkle a mixture of powdered cardamom and rock sugar (misri) over the tongue .
  • Tips beneficial for High Cholesterol and Heart Diseases: 
    Grind dried amlas to a fine powder. Mix an equal weight of Mishri and store in a glass bottle. Have one teaspoon every morning with a glass of water on an empty stomach 
  • Body Swelling 
    Grind black cumin seeds (shah jeera) with a little hot water and apply on affected parts. 
  • Body weakness : Soak 8 to 10 almonds and 1 teaspoon rice overnight. Remove the outer skin of almonds. Grind into a fine paste. Mix in some milk and a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi). Boil and drink along with mishri. 
  • Cough 
    Mix equal amounts of pepper powder and mishri by weight. Mix enough pure ghee to form small balls. Suck one ball/tablet 3-4 times a day. Avoid - curd, bananas, ice, rice fried and cold foods. 
    Or
    Mix black pepper, honey, Ghee and mishri and Jayeshthi mudh powder and take 4 times a day.
  • Throat, hoarseness 
    1. Soak 8 to 10 almonds overnight in 1 cup water. After discarding the outer skin, grind the kernels with 8 to 10 black pepper (saboot kali mirch) in 1 cup water. Sift it and drink once a day, after adding mishri.
